Estates

Please consider making Senior Rides and More part of your estate plans.  The simplest way is placing a few sentences in your will or trust.  Please be sure that the document uses the legal title of “Volunteer Interfaith Caregivers Southwest.”  Because you are not actually making the gift until after your lifetime, you can change your mind at any time.  The following is sample language to share with your adviser:

  • “I give and bequeath the sum of  ____ dollars or ____% of my estate to Senior Rides and More, with the principal office located at 5001 Bellaire Blvd., Bellaire, TX 77401.”
  • You can structure the request to leave a specific item or amount of money, make the gift contingent on certain events or leave a percentage of your estate.  If your estate is subject to estate tax, your gift is entitled to an estate tax charitable deduction for the gift’s full value.  Your circumstances may change, and you can change your gift at any time.
  • To make a charitable bequest, you need a current will or revocable living trust.  A revocable living trust transfers assets, such as cash and securities, to the trust, naming the trustee of your choice.  You are the beneficiary of the trust during your lifetime.  The trustee will manage the assets and pay to you the net income—or if you want additional funds, a portion or all of the principal.  After your lifetime, the trust becomes irrevocable.  Your specified loved ones can receive lifetime income or principal from the trust, or you can have their share given to them in a lump sum, as you would in a regular will.  When the trust terminates, the remaining assets are given to the beneficiaries you chose, often in percentages.  Should you choose to include Senior Rides and More in your trust as a beneficiary, we can use the percentage you designate for important needs.

Memorials

  • In the case of honorary or memorial tributes that are given in the name of special persons or events, acknowledgments are mailed to both the donors and those being honored or to their families.
  • Anonymous gifts are accepted as well and honored as such.
  • All inquiries are held in confidence and with no obligation.  Please give us a call at (713)-772-8181.
  • Senior Rides and More is established as a 501(c)(3) and is classified by the Internal Revenue Service as a Type I Supporting Organization.  As a result, gifts made to it are typically deductible for federal income tax purposes.
